About the Podcast
The Alternative Blacks Podcast is a show that explores a wide variety of topics from a unique bi-racial perspective. The hosts of the show, Tyler and Chris, begin each episode by cracking open a new craft beer to rate and review. The podcast aims to highlight the lack of diversity in the craft beer industry and bring more representation to the community. The show also features guests who have lived "alternative" Black lives, showing that there is no one-size-fits-all definition of Blackness. The Alternative Blacks Podcast is a fresh take on craft beer and Black identity. With a focus on diversity and representation, the show provides an enlightening and thought-provoking listen. Chris Kissinger
Chris Kissinger is a co-creator of The Alternative Blacks Podcast, where he and his co-host, Tyler Washington, explore a wide variety of topics from a biracial perspective. As a brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Chris brings a unique perspective to the show. He is passionate about craft beer specifically, he loves all craft beer styles and generally reaches for an IPA in the summer, Stout or Porter in the winter, or whatever seasonal beer is available at the time. He enjoys nothing more than visiting new breweries and trying out food and beer pairings. Chris is committed to promoting diversity and representation in the craft beer industry and aims to bring more representation to the community through the podcast. Tyler Washington
Tyler Washington is the co-creator of The Alternative Blacks Podcast, where he and his co-host, Chris Kissinger, explore a wide variety of topics from a biracial perspective. Tyler is always on the road, allowing him the opportunity to visit new breweries across the country. He's a lover of Double IPAs and Barleywine, but he loves exploring new styles as well. While traveling, Tyler is most likely in local breweries chatting up the staff and searching for the locals' favorite attractions. He's passionate about promoting diversity and representation in the craft beer industry, and aims to bring more representation to the community through the podcast.
